Special guests include New York `No Wave` director Tom DiCillo (Johnny Suede, Living in Oblivion, The Real Blonde, A Box Of Moon Light) and we discuss his films, and in particular his latest effort WHEN YOU`RE STRANGE, a new documentary about THE DOORS, using all archived footage, most of which has never been seen before. Also with us will be Virginie Sélavy, founder and editor of ELECTRIC SHEEP magazine which promises `a deviant view of cinema`. Virginie talks with us about exploitation cinema, film magazine publishing, and the new book ELECTRIC SHEEP publishing is putting out an new book in November, called THE END with essays on David Lynch, Nollywood, The Night of the Living Dead, Koji Wakamatsu, Clouzot`s Inferno, 70s Spanish horror films, etc. We also, discuss the recent announcement that the UK Film Council is to be axed.



Today is Boring

In November 2008, TODAY IS BORING moved from Shoreditch up the road to Dalston. Since then, we have taken on a new direction, leaving behind all the pretenses of a high street video shop. Our involvement in various aspects of the film industry and various creative communities revolving around the use of the moving image, has naturally pushed us in other directions. Now, TODAY IS BORING finds us involved in film consultancy, film events promotion, film production, and of course the continuing development of our film archive. The curation of this archive now centres around research and reference for organisations and individuals, rather than the ad campaign-driven mass entertainment of the day.

About Today is Boring

In November 2008, TODAY IS BORING moved from Shoreditch up the road to Dalston. Since then, we have taken on a new direction, leaving behind all the pretenses of a high street video shop. Our involvement in various aspects of the film industry and various creative communities revolving around the use of the moving image, has naturally pushed us in other directions. Now, TODAY IS BORING finds us involved in film consultancy, film events promotion, film production, and of course the continuing development of our film archive. The curation of this archive now centres around research and reference for organisations and individuals, rather than the ad campaign-driven mass entertainment of the day.
